Developer Notes

This game was created in 72 hours for Solo Dev Game Jam #5 - Spooky Jam. Due to the short time frame, I wasn't able to add sound or music 😞. Likewise, I couldn't tune the difficulty as much as I wanted. The game should be beatable, though! (As a bit of a teaser, there are three different enemy types in the game. If you survive long enough, you can see them all!)

I am also aware of a bug where the game crashes randomly when a creature dies. Unfortunately, I couldn't fix it before the deadline. Please restart the game when it happens!

That was a lot of fun. The visuals are awesome with your choice of colours and visual style and the gameplay was fluid. It is a game that fits the theme well since you are fighting a necromancer. I felt like it was too easy to get points and just win by spamming peasants and the arrows didn't take away enough points per use. I saw two of the enemy types with big type only appearing once; so it makes me think that maybe depending on where the player is at, we could see more of a particular kind of enemy.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I realized that the peasant rush strategy was too strong during development, but it seemed I didn't nerf it enough. I also could definitely have done a better job with the enemy waves. I only had about two hours to tune the difficulty, so I did what I could.

Understandable. With the amount of time that we had to make the games, these kinds of things are hard to adjust for and in saying that, you still did a great job in making it a fun game while sticking to the theme.

Fun short game! Really throws back to some flash games for sure.
